PROJECT LOCATED IN BADOMO
300 families 4 000 direct beneficiaries
CIDeCS – Integrated Development Programme
The goal of the CIDeCS Programme is the cultural, social and economic development of the Saint-Marc Commune.
Saint-Marc is 90 km from the capital Port-au-Prince. The village of BADOMO is 5 or 6 kilometers from the large town of Saint-Marc and covers three localities in the region — Barbe, Dorval and Moreau.
Its specific objectives are : Mobilization of the human and institutional resources of the region ; Revitalization of high value-added economic activities centred on local resources ; Social reintegration of the family and the village communities.
The programme focuses currently on three major sectors:
1. Communication – Information – Awareness
Community radio – Radio Pipirit Radio Creole Access to information Awareness tool
2. Community Outreach Service – Economic growth
Electri-CIDeCS (grid 1 100 metres) Connected to the grid : 1 grocery store 1 video-cinema 1 primary school Radio-Pipirit Dispensary National primary school
Battery recharging : 8 chargers; 16 mobile phones Ironing workshop : 5 irons Street lighting : 3 street lights
Commercial link with the town Repair of the road between Saint-Marc and Hauts de Saint Marc (Badomo)
3. Health – environment
Project to pipe potable water Collector of spring water Water tower 60 m3 18 stand pumps Protection and maintenance of the spring by planting trees Protection of the banks with gabions (600 metres)
